Blockx Belgian Oils

Developed in 1865 by Belgian chemist, Jacques Blockx, these colors are still manufactured by the Blockx family following original formulas. Specially selected, lightfast pigments are slowly ground in pure poppyseed or linseed oil on stone mills without fillers to assure their brilliance and clarity of color. Pigment concentrations are always taken as far as possible without sacrificing a soft, buttery consistency. Salvador Dali wrote of Monsieur Blockx, "This gentleman, who has never painted, will give more to the painters of tomorrow than all of us modern painters taken together."
